Nikon D800 sensor dust and spot issues explained
Factory trained technician Isaac Hadid of Southern Photo reports that there was a possibility of some oil splash on the D800 sensor on the first production run, but that possibility was limited to that first production run only. Isaac says that he has never had any cases of oil on the sensor, only some dust. "It only took one internet mention of oil on the sensor and now every time a D800 shows spots from sensor dust, customers immediately believe that they have oil on their sensor too." NOT TRUE!!
