We were expecting this announcement back in December, but the New Nikon D5 was worth the wait with the much anticipated upgrades and the latest and greatest technology, Nikon has just revealed their new flagship DSLR: the D5, featuring a 20.8MP FX-format CMOS sensor, the EXPEED 5 processor, and a 153-point phase-detect AF sensor. This model will be available in two versions, one with dual CF card slots and one with dual XQD card slots. Both versions are sold at the same price and “Isaac” our Nikon Master Factory Trained technician suggests the XQD model for all sports photographers. In addition to phenomenal speed of up to 14 fps with stills, common shooting modes will only shoot at 12 fps. ISO has been dramatically improved with an expanded range up to 3,280,000. To top it all off, the D5 also brings with it 4K UHD video recording at up to 30 fps with a DX-format pixel-by-pixel readout. The new D5 is built on the previous D4 chassis that has proven to be a solid, durable camera and Southern Photo Technical Service will provide our exclusive “PRO UPGRADE” modifications to boost performance and reliability with reduced sensor cleaning requirements. The success of the Nikon “PRO” upgrades is profound and desired by all true NIKONIANS!!! Overall, we give “two thumbs up” to the new D5 and we are proud to represent and offer our service and support as a Nikon Authorized Service Center for this new Nikon Flagship camera.
